The 600-room downtown Holiday Inn San Diego on the Bay hotel has been rebranded as an upscale Wyndham property, under an agreement between its owner and a division of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts LLC.

The property at 1355 N. Harbor Drive is now known as Wyndham San Diego Bayside, and Wyndham Hotel Group’s management company is now overseeing daily operations, according to a statement. The reflagging and management changeover stem from an agreement between the hotel group and the property’s owner, FelCor Lodging Trust Inc.

A hotel spokeswoman said operators plan an extensive renovation, set to begin in mid-November that will include guest rooms meeting spaces, common areas and exterior elements. A dollar figure for the renovation investment has not been determined.

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is a subsidiary of New Jersey-based Wyndham Worldwide Corp. Wyndham Hotel Group operates more than 7,340 properties worldwide.
