Sempra Energy recently reported 2012 results, saying it achieved earnings of $859 million, or $3.48 per diluted share, on revenue of $9.65 billion. That is down from last year, when earnings were $1.33 billion, or $5.51 per diluted share, on revenue of $10.04 billion.
For the fourth quarter of 2012, Sempra said it reached earnings of $293 million on revenue of $2.67 billion. For the fourth quarter of 2011, the company reported earnings of $285 million on revenue of $2.6 billion.
The company was forecasting it would achieve earnings of $4.30 to $4.80 per share in the current year.
Highlights for 2012 included completion of the Sunrise Powerlink transmission line for subsidiary utility San Diego Gas & Electric Co. Sempra also received bids to construct natural gas pipelines in Mexico.
