Business Forecast Aims to Bring Future into Focus

Health care, technology and business consulting are the three fastest-growing industries in the region, according to a new business forecast launched by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Silvergate Bank. The report will emphasize predictions and expectations for the short and long term. The restaurants are national brands Qdoba Mexican Grill, Red Mango and Peet’s Coffee & Tea, as well as SSP America’s own UrbanCrave and Camden food co., which sources local farms and businesses for food products. The installation of the new terminal services in a central food court is one of the final steps in the airport’s $2 billion Green Build expansion and modernization program … TED.com, which presents the ideas of experts in all areas of business and industry, as well as science and technology, highlights iGrad, a Cardiff-By-the-Sea financial literacy website for college-age students. TED.com posts a free video tutorial about financing college and graduate school produced by iGrad, which counts 1.2 million college-age users, and 500 colleges and universities … Oceanside-based HireAHelper.com says it is partnering with website AnyPerk Inc., which provides employee perk packages to employers nationwide. The 7-year-old HireAHelper says it enables do-it-yourself movers in San Diego to find the assistance needed to load and unload rental trucks or portable storage crates. The North County business claims it has helped more than 250,000 customers since 2006 … Finally, this item of note: The Bach Collegium San Diego, the city’s only early music performance ensemble, plays the Big Apple Dec. 14 as part of its 2013-14 offering. The season begins Sept. 27-28 with “1707,” featuring compositions of George Frideric Handel and Johann Sebastian Bach, two rock stars of the early classical era.
