Dataskill, a San Diego-based business intelligence and predictive analytics company, is acquiring Staffing Innovations for an undisclosed price as part of an aggressive plan to capture local talent in business intelligence and big data analytics.

Founded in 1981, Dataskill helps organizations make better use of their data. Specializing in big data integration and architecture, custom enterprise and mobile software, the company has designed solutions for 500-plus companies worldwide. Staffing Innovations of San Diego provides contract labor within the disciplines of software, hardware engineers, test engineers and information technology professionals.

Nigel Hook, Dataskill’s founder and CEO, said the purchase was made to supplement Dataskill’s big data and predictive analytics health care practice.

“The talented individuals we need on staff to deliver at the levels our clients demand are at a premium,” Hook said in a statement. “This acquisition will serve to increase our ability to deliver to our clients’ expectations and allow us to expand in our solutions leveraging predictive analytics and big data.”

The San Diego Business Journal ranked Dataskill as No. 59 on its 2012 Fastest-Growing Private Companies list, with revenues increasing from $8.7 million in 2010 to $14.1 million in 2011. The company continues to climb and as of the end of July, Dataskill reported revenues from software were already up over 40 percent for the year.

Among Staffing Innovations’ clients that are now part of the Dataskill family are health care, technology, aerospace and finance companies in the greater San Diego region.
