PriceSmart Inc., the San Diego operator of retail warehouse stores in Latin America and the Caribbean, reported its net sales for the month of September increased 14 percent to $167 million, above the results for the like month in 2011.
For the same month, same store sales, for those open at least 13.5 months, increased 10 percent over the amount reported in September 2011, the company said.
PriceSmart operates 29 warehouse stores, the same number it did one year earlier. The locations are in 12 countries and one U.S. territory. Costa Rica has the largest number with five, followed by Panama and Trinidad with four each, three each in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, two each in El Salvador and Honduras, and one each in Aruba, Barbados, Colombia, Jamaica, Nicaragua and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
