Manpower San Diego owners, Catherine and Phil Blair and Linda and Mel Katz, have made a contribution to San Diego Hospice Inpatient Care Center to rename the lobby as the “Manpower Lobby.” The gift was made in memory of their longtime friend Ronald H. Kendrick who was an executive with Union Bank. His widow, Cheryl Kendrick, is a member of the board of San Diego Hospice. A new Donor Wall was also unveiled, which will allow the organization to acknowledge and thank its supporters over the past 35 year history as well as future contributors. “We are so grateful to Manpower San Diego, Catherine and Phil Blair and Linda and Mel Katz for their generous support of San Diego Hospice services,” said Traci Bruckner, chief development officer … St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center held its 14th Annual Morning Glory Brunch raising $42,000 for the adult day-training facility in El Cajon. The funds will help support the continued operations of Sophie’s Gallery NTC in Point Loma, a satellite gallery of Sophie’s Gallery & Gift Shop. Sophie’s NTC provides adult artists with developmental disabilities opportunities to experience the artistic community in San Diego County … Make-A-Wish San Diego raised $140,000 at its 3rd annual Walk for Wishes. San Diego County Credit Union was the presenting sponsor. Other major sponsors included Bridgepoint Education and Cbeyond.
