Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego announced that “The Campaign for Rady Children’s,” to raise $220 million to care for the sick and injured children of San Diego, reached its goal six months early with a total of $221,308,322 contributed. The estimated number of gifts received was 4.9 million. Major contributors to the campaign were the Rady family, Peckham family, Warren family and Viterbi family. Beneficiaries included Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad and the Del Mar Lifeguard Association. Sponsors were Vigilucci’s Restaurant Group, Red Envelope, Pave-Tech, DPR Construction, Viking Commercial Construction and Hudson Printing … Fresh Start Surgical Gifts’ Surgery Weekend was held to provide life-changing medical procedures to infants, children and teens suffering from physical deformities. Medical treatments were provided by an all-volunteer team of surgeons and medical professionals. Famous Dave’s donated the food for the volunteer team at Surgery Weekend. Fresh Start holds six Surgery Weekends per year, helping about 400 children with deformities annually … Cassidy Turley San Diego was recognized as the leading fundraising team for City of Hope’s San Diego Walk for Hope. Four scholarships are still available for the FRED Scholars Program … Anthony Medina, a freshman at the University of California San Diego received a scholarship from Gerdau, a supplier of long steel.
