ViaSat Inc., the Carlsbad-based maker of satellite communications equipment, said it obtained a one-year, $52 million contract to provide broadband satellite communications services to a U.S. government customer.
ViaSat said the agreement is a renewal of services it’s already providing to the unnamed federal customer using its ArcLight technology over a managed private network that supports military missions for the War on Terror.
ViaSat’s systems are flown on more than 300 government aircraft such as the C-130, C-17, U-28 and various King Air models, and have accumulated some 500,000 mission hours.
