As part of the colleges’ mathematics, engineering, and science achievement programs, students will teach individuals who lack knowledge of the Internet, how to apply for college, find a job, access health and finance resources and engage with social networks … Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad raised $80,000 at its annual golf tournament on March 28 which was held at the El Camino Country Club in Oceanside. Proceeds support the club’s programs and services. TaylorMade-adidas Golf Co. was honored for its years of collaboration with the club. Other major sponsors included Emerson Network Power, NRG Cabrillo Power and Tmax Gear … The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership received a $50,000 challenge grant from The Legler Benbough Foundation. Donations to the Cultural Partnership received by May 31, will be matched with fifty cents for every dollar contributed. Funds raised will help support the 2015 Centennial Celebration, the Balboa Park Learning Institute and the Balboa Park Environmental Sustainability Program … Ashford University has committed to donate $2,500 to the Southern California division of Operation Homefront for each home run hit by the San Diego Padres during this season’s Sunday home games. The Homers for Heroes program will help underwrite the assistance Operation Homefront provides to service members’ families and injured American soldiers, airmen, sailors and Marines … Windermere Exclusive Properties partnered with the Beach and Country Guild for United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego to put on the 2nd Annual Rancho Rags for Riches Rummage Sale on April 16. The event was held at the Fairbanks Village Plaza in Rancho Santa Fe. The event raised $15,000 to benefit local program services of UCP … CEO and founder of McAlister Institute, Jeanne McAlister, received the PATH to Recovery Partner Award at the “Musical PATH to Recovery” reception held on April 29 at NTC Promenade. “Having made it my passion for the past 34 years to provide effective treatment and services to men, women and children who are battling, or are affected by addiction, it’s inspiring to see other organizations putting forth such valiant efforts,” said McAlister … Donovan’s & Duckhorn presented a Wine Dinner & Auction on April 17. The $72,000 raised will support the Music Education and Outreach programs of the San Diego Symphony … Friends of Downtown is scheduled to hold its annual fundraising breakfast on May 19 at the Harbor House in Seaport Village. The event is sponsored by Cox Communications and The Charitable Foundation, the community outreach of Prudential California Realty. Funds raised go to provide scholarships to San Diego City College students. Last year $25,000 was raised to provide 40 students with scholarships.
