The Mission Support Grants program is an invitational program. Qualifying agencies must be operationally stable with strong leadership and have demonstrated their commitment to increasing the capacity of the health care delivery system for the poor and vulnerable populations of San Diego. Among those receiving the AHF grants include: Center for Community Solutions, Chicano Federation of San Diego, ElderHelp of San Diego, Second Chance and San Diego Rescue Mission … The Rancho Coastal Humane Society held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 16 for the first Military Working Dog Memorial in San Diego. The memorial is installed in the RCHS’ dog park known as Cricket’s Corner. Jim Silveira, RCHS president, and MWD adopter Madeleine Pickens came up with the idea after visiting Arlington National Cemetery with military working dogs and their handlers. Contributors to the memorial were Del Mar Country Club, Edco, Dianna and Floyd Isley and Diane and Chris Calkins … The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership received a $412,000 grant from the City of San Diego’s FY2012 Community Development Block Grant. The funds will be used for accessibility improvements for park institutions in preparation for the Balboa Park 2015 Centennial Celebration. CBDG funding is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development … Ronald McDonald House awarded prizes in the second early bird drawing of the 7th Annual Dream House Raffle fundraiser. Dan Ucker, Carlsbad, won $15,000; Steven Welty, San Diego, won $10,000; and Gregory Hall, Bonita, won $5,000. Eight others won $1,000 each. The grand prize drawing for the Dream House Raffle is set for June 4 … Developmental Services Continuum received a grant from San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization. Halphen Red Hamburger Sauce invited youth organizations, teams and schools to use Halphen Red as a fundraising tool and raise money for their schools. Each school received $2 for each bottle sold.
