Scripps Health announced Oct. 1 its acquisition of North Coast Women’s Care clinics in Encinitas and Vista. North Coast’s physicians and staff will join the Scripps Coastal Medical Center by Nov. 1. The staff of 16 will now be employed by Scripps Health.

The group of five health care practitioners, specializing in obstetrics, gynecology and fertility medicine, is now part of the Scripps Coastal Medical Group, the physician practice working within Scripps Coastal Medical Center.

The physicians and staff of North Coast Women’s Care join the more than 100 Scripps Coastal physicians at 12 locations from Oceanside to Eastlake. Doctors at the two new locations will continue to provide inpatient hospital care, including labor, delivery and surgical services at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

“The addition of this well-established group to Scripps Coastal Medical Center strengthens and expands our patient services, adding obstetrics, gynecology and fertility specialties,” said Dr. Kevin Hirsch, president of Scripps Coastal Medical Group. “Current patients of North Coast Women’s Care will experience minimal change and their personal physician will continue to coordinate their medical needs during this transition and beyond.”

Scripps Health is a $2.2 billion, private not-for-profit community health system based in San Diego.
