Douglas Wilson Cos. Has New Project and New Division

San Diego-based Douglas Wilson Cos. has been named court-appointed receiver for Garden Grove Galleria, an unfinished Orange County mixed-use building whose original projected cost was $50 million.

A May 18 statement said the eight-story, 126,000-square-foot Galleria is located in Garden Grove’s Korean business district. The eight-floor building includes commercial and parking elements, with a planned 66 residential condominiums.

As receiver, Douglas Wilson Cos. is responsible for operating, preserving and managing the partially constructed building.

In other news, the San Diego firm announced May 19 that it has launched a new forensic and litigation support division, naming Thomas C. Hebrank as the division’s senior managing director.

A statement said Hebrank will oversee the firm’s expanded capabilities in handling operating businesses, government and Securities and Exchange Commission assignments, forensic accounting and bankruptcy work.

Hebrank is a director of the San Diego Receivers Forum, and a past director of the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum, which serve and represent the local bankruptcy and receivership communities. The certified public accountant and restructuring advisor worked with Douglas Wilson in full-time and consulting roles from 2002 to 2008.
