San Diego-based Tarari Inc., which designs specialized semiconductors and software, has completed a series C round of venture capital funding, raising $14 million.
Leading the round was San Diego-based Enterprise Partners Venture Capital. Also participating were Crosspoint Venture Partners, Morgan Stanley Venture Partners, Miramar Venture Partners and XMLFund.
Tarari describes itself as an "acceleration company." The company's products handle computer programs related to extensible markup language, or XML, Web services, network security and digital media. Tarari split off from Intel Corp.'s network equipment division in 2002.
Bob Conn, former UC San Diego engineering dean and current managing director at Enterprise Partners, will take a seat on the Tarari board.
