A recent deal with Sony Corp. has San Diego-based CollegeClub.com shouting, "That's Entertainment!"
CollegeClub.com, the largest online community for college students, has entered into a three-year strategic partnership with Sony and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Financial terms of the deal weren't released.
By combining forces, the companies plan to gain a larger share of the estimated $25 billion that U.S. college students spend annually on goods and services.
Sony promotions and entertainment content, such as games, music, movies and TV, will be added to the CollegeClub.com site.
In addition, Sony expects to attract more young consumers to its electronics and programming.
The privately-held CollegeClub.com, launched in 1993 by CEO Michael Pousti, has 1.5 million registered members using its services, including E-mail, voice mail. CollegeClub.com also offers student discounts on the Web, classifieds, auctions, news, information and entertainment.
