Tower Paddle Boards, a Pacific Beach-based manufacturer, will appear on an episode of ABC’s “Beyond the Shark Tank” on Thursday, showcasing its growth since billionaire Mark Cuban bought nearly a third of the company in 2012.
Tower CEO Stephan Aarstol appeared on network’s reality show “Shark Tank” four years ago and secured a $150,000 investment from Cuban for 30 percent of the company. At the time, it had only sold $100,000 worth of paddle boards.
Last year’s revenue hit more than $7 million and this year Aarstol projects $10 million in revenue. Tower was named the fastest-growing company in the region by the San Diego Business Journal in 2014. “Beyond the Shark Tank” profiles past contestants from the show and how they’ve fared since appearing.
