Taiwanese fitness equipment manufacturer Johnson Health Tech has acquired San Diego-based specialty retail chain The Gym Store Inc.
The Gym Store has eight stores in Central and Southern California branded under the name Busy Body. The company focuses on fitness equipment for use in homes.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Busy Body is one of the strongest specialty fitness retailers in the country,” Bob Zande, president of Johnson Health Tech Retail Inc., an American subsidiary based in Cottage Grove, Wis.
Johnson Health Tech makes fitness equipment for commercial and residential use. It also has more than 300 equipment stores around the world.
