‘SHE Means Business’ Summit Happening Today at UCSD Park & Market

Women entrepreneurs looking to network and learn from top local industry leaders are invited to a five-hour summit today (June 9) in downtown San Diego.

SHE Means Business, hosted by the County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce, will provide resources, key insights and knowledge for women business owners.

The program, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UCSD Park & Market, will include a networking lunch and talks on business leadership, setting goals, marketing, using technology and innovation, financial literacy, and raising money and obtaining loans.

Local entrepreneurs like Katty Ibarra of the Women’s Business Center, Juliet Terramin from Accessity, Maya’s Cookies founder Maya Madsen and C.J. Smith of Revenue Boss will be taking part in the event.

“Here at the Black Chamber, we want to lift up the next generation of women entrepreneurs and business leaders in our city,” said Donna DeBerry, president and CEO at the County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce. “That’s why we put together a summit featuring some of San Diego’s top female entrepreneurs – so that women in business can learn, connect and take their businesses to the next level.”

The County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce believes that because female-identifying business owners and leaders often face unique challenges or experiences, networking and learning from other experienced businesswomen is a way to cultivate community and connection while learning about how to grow a business to the next level.

It uses innovative programming, networking opportunities and strategic partnerships to move the needle and help people of color in San Diego achieve generational wealth.
