Where’s the Fire?
Not at the Symphony Towers office building, despite the recent congregation of firefighters there. The 34-story office building, one of Downtown’s tallest, was the site of a special high-rise firefighting training session Feb. 2.
Part of the statewide FIRESCOPE program to standardize firefighting practices, the training introduced San Diego Fire Department personnel to the building’s modern fire protection system. Unlike some office high-rises, the 11-year-old Symphony Towers boasts a fire alarm system that can pinpoint the location of an activated alarm, saving firefighters valuable time in responding to an emergency.
