Westfield Cuts Store Hours

Retail real estate giant Westfield will cut operating hours at nearly all of its 55 U.S. shopping centers including six in San Diego County as a result of weakened consumer demand and foot traffic. The reduction in hours is effective March 1.

Michele Predko, a regional marketing manager for Westfield, said the slight reduction of six hours weekly is an effort to help its retailers.

Westfield will open 30 minutes later and close 30 minutes earlier Monday through Friday and close one hour earlier on Sundays at Mission Valley, North County, Parkway Plaza, Plaza Bonita, Plaza Camino Real and UTC. Horton Plaza will not be affected by the reduction. In addition, the change in hours will not affect department stores at any of Westfield’s malls.
