Europe or bust! In its first move outside North America, La Jolla’s WebSideStory has opened an office in France in order to market its HitBox Web audience analysis technology throughout Europe.
The company has a temporary office in Lyon, France, but plans to move to a permanent office in Paris. WebSideStory also plans to open offices in other European countries.
WebSideStory will initially offer HitBox Enterprise, a high-end version of its analysis service, to companies that have a large Internet presence in France and Germany. Among the European firms testing out the HitBox technology are TFI, one of the oldest and most well-known television channels in France; iBazar Group, one of France’s largest providers of free Web pages; NCTech, a Web hosting and Internet consulting firm and a subsidiary of France Telecom; and Internet service provider FranceNet.
“We have waited a long time to be able to do this,” said Blaise Barrelet, WebSideStory’s French-born founder and CEO. “The European companies we have talked to so far have quickly understood the immense benefit of our Internet-based model of Web audience analysis.”
