San Diego-based Visual Ventures LLC planned to launch an interactive online employment community May 1.
VMploy.com (dubbed “Your Visual Employment Community”) enables job seekers to market themselves to potential employers using video resumes and other multimedia tools. The site will also enable employers to hold virtual job fairs and hold live video interviews.
Miles Houck, managing partner of Visual Ventures, says that by using the latest interactive technologies, companies can improve connections and cultural fits between employers and employees.
Mark Fischer, vice president of marketing, says Visual Ventures is exploring partnership opportunities with multiple online employment Web sites to complement their employment service.
Visual Ventures declined to comment on development costs or revenue potential, citing partnership agreements in the works.
“This interactive community is a way of perfecting the employer-employee courtship process and build the types of teams that become the foundation of successful business endeavors,” he said.
Brian Krogstad, senior vice president of marketing, says the launch, though nationwide, will include a strong San Diego presence.
“This takes recruiting to the next level,” said Krogstad. “Unfortunately, now all you have is a text resume. The interactivity of online communities allows you to talk live, whether it is audio, video or instant messaging.”
Krogstad adds that the online employment community can shorten the length of time to recruit employees.
Visual Ventures operates several Web-based, interactive social communities.
