Streamload Inc. has appointed Patrick Harr, a former entrepreneur-in-residence at Enterprise Partners Venture Capital, as the firm’s new chief executive officer.
Harr succeeds Streamload’s founder, Steve Iverson, who will become chief technical officer.
Streamload is building a media services and sharing network for Internet connected devices, and made the announcement Feb. 8.
The company’s customers include music enthusiasts, digital photographers, media center PC users, graphic designers, architects, software developers, home office business owners and students, according to its Web site. Several large businesses and New Mexico State University also use Streamload’s service.
Before San Diego’s Enterprise Partners Venture Capital, where Harr focused on investments related to content, storage and media services, he was CEO of Preventsys Inc., a security risk and compliance management firm formerly based in Carlsbad. Preventsys was acquired by McAfee in 2006.
Harr has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland, and a bachelor’s degree from Tulane University in political economy and Russian.
