Top Sanders Aide Resigns

Ronne Froman, chief operating officer for the city of San Diego, submitted her resignation June 11 and will leave her post June 29, Mayor Jerry Sanders’ office said.

Froman is a retired Navy admiral who has also held posts with the San Diego schools and with the American Red Cross. She worked with Sanders at City Hall for 18 months, as the city made the transition to a “strong mayor” form of government.

Froman said in her resignation letter that she intended to serve only briefly at City Hall.

Sanders said June 11 that Jay Goldstone will serve as interim COO while his office conducts a search for Froman’s replacement.
