Data storage device developer Dot Hill Systems Corp. announced financial results Nov. 8.
Third-quarter revenue for the period ended Sept. 30 was $54.8 million compared to $53.6 million in the like period of 2005.
Quarterly net loss plummeted to $60.1 million, or $1.34 per diluted share, compared with the third-quarter 2005 net loss of $1.3 million, or 3 cents per diluted share.
The company was hit by a tax charge of $52.5 million, or $1.17 per diluted share. Without the charge, pro forma net loss would have been $7.6 million, or 17 cents per diluted share.
Carlsbad-based Dot Hill is traded on the Nasdaq as HILL and closed Nov. 8 at $4.33, down 7 cents from the Nov. 7 close.
