For the 10th consecutive year, the San Diego Business Journal has teamed with the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLC to take the economic pulse of San Diego’s business community.

In previous years, nine key industries were targeted by the survey. This year, a 10th industry , E-commerce , was added.

Questionnaires were mailed to 1,111 executives in those industries. There were 194 responses, a 17.5 percent response rate.

The survey was mailed in November and returned by early December. The responses were tabulated by Deloitte & Touche.
