SuperShuttle International of Phoenix increased its share of the Southern California airport ground transport market with the March 25 acquisition of Express Shuttle, which operates in San Diego and Los Angeles.
Terms of the deal were not announced, however, SuperShuttle said it added 60 vans and 15 sedans, as well as 40 new employees and 75 independent driver contractors to the operation.
Express Shuttle owners Roger and Haji Moradi will stay on in managerial positions.
SuperShuttle, which is a unit of Paris-based Veolia Transportation, operates bus, rail, taxi, shuttle and paratransit routes, or lines for people who cannot use regular transit systems, in 150 U.S. and Canadian locations.
SuperShuttle also owns Cloud 9 shuttle services of San Diego, which it acquired in 2007 for an undisclosed sum.
