San Marcos-based Submarina California Subs said Aug. 28 that it has promoted Mimi Zeller to president and CEO.
Zeller joined the sandwich franchise in 2006. She was previously president and chief operating officer. Under her leadership, Submarina opened 18 restaurants , a record number , in 2008.
She started her franchising career at Domino’s Pizza and has worked in the executive offices of Mail Boxes Etc.
Former chief executive Jeff Warfield will remain with Submarina as area developer in Riverside County.
Submarina says it operates 65 locations in seven states, with several hundred stores under development across the country.
