Space Micro Inc., a San Diego-based defense business, said March 13 it was awarded a $100,000, six-month contract from the Air Force to help develop a miniature space weather instrument.
David Bozek, vice president at Space Micro, said the company is teaming with the Air Force Academy in Colorado to develop a device that provides better sensing capability than current products , in a smaller package and at a lower cost.
Founded in 2002, Space Micro had $3.7 million in revenue last year and employs 35 workers.
