Beginning Feb. 5, Southwest Airlines will offer new, nonstop, round-trip service between two of the nation’s oldest mission cities , San Diego and San Antonio.
The route is the first nonstop flight that the airline has added at Lindbergh Field since 2003, when it initiated nonstop, round-trip service from San Diego to Baltimore.
A $99 introductory fare for the San Diego to San Antonio route is available through March 27.
According to an air traffic report supplied by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, Southwest, one of the nation’s largest, low-fare airlines, had a 34.2 percent share of the passenger traffic at Lindbergh Field during November.
