HR A Staple At Staples:

A new small business network for human resources or payroll needs is now as close as the local Staples store.

Roseland, N.J.-based Automatic Data Processing signed a deal April 3 to provide personal consultation at Staples’ retail stores. The service is also available on the Web at (http://staples.com/adp), said Christopher Kowalski, a spokesman for Staples. Sales specialists are already online and are available in 88 stores in California and Arizona. They will be available in Staples’ 970 retails stores nationwide by the end of June, Kowalski said.

“Too often, small businesses are underserved and do not receive the personal attention they would prefer,” said Mitch Gross, vice president of business services for Staples. “Staples and ADP are bringing big company attention to small businesses offering unmatched flexibility and convenience to our customers looking for timesaving and dependable payroll solutions.”

Send small-business and retail items to Lee Zion at (858) 277-6359, Ext. 112, or by e-mail at lzion@sdbj.com. The deadline for the May 7 issue is April 27.
