Stephen Baum, who recently retired from his positions as chairman and chief executive officer of Sempra Energy, received a $3 million bonus in 2005 on top of $1.13 million in salary. Sempra reported the figures Feb. 28 in a preliminary proxy statement.
In 2004, Baum received a $2.18 million bonus in addition to a salary of $1.09 million.
Baum retired as chief executive Dec. 31 and as chairman Jan. 31. Both positions are now held by Donald Felsinger.
Felsinger, who spent 2005 as Sempra’s president and chief operating officer, received a bonus of $1.24 million and a salary of $775,000.
Sempra, the San Diego-based utility, is a Fortune 500 company that had 2005 revenue of $11.7 billion.
