Educators are considering ways to train the work force that will one day move the green economy.
The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District invites business and industry representatives to gather with educators for a daylong symposium on the topic.
“Growing Green Careers” runs from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the communication arts theater at Cuyamaca College, 900 Rancho San Diego Parkway in Rancho San Diego. The event is free and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
Bill Garrett, president of the college district’s governing board, calls the gathering “an important opportunity for business and industry leaders to speak directly to educators about the work force skills they’re looking for.”
The event will touch on programs in renewable energy, environmental management, green construction, landscaping, energy efficiency, water technology and wastewater technology.
Online registration for the event is available at sdicoe.net/events.asp.
