SDBJ Staffers Win 22 Awards at SPJ Banquet

The


San Diego Business Journal

won 22 honors, including a best of show, at the San Diego chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists annual awards banquet June 16 at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley.

The paper won best of show in the non-daily category for its team report, “The County Rebuilds,” on last year’s devastating fires.

First place plaques went to Connie Lewis for non-deadline news story; the SDBJ team, investigative/enterprise story or series; Pat Broderick, education story or series; and legal story or series; Pat Broderick and Rene’e Beasley Jones, business story or series; Mike Allen, real estate story or series; and sports story or series; Mandy Jackson, political government story or series; and Rick Bell, review/criticism.

Second place awards went to Connie Lewis, non-deadline news story; the SDBJ team, investigative/enter & #173; & #173;prise story or series; Mike Allen, business story or series; Pat Broderick, real estate story or series; science/technology/health story or series; and political government story or series; and SDBJ’s special section on the wealthiest people in San Diego.

Honorable mentions went to the SDBJ team for investigative/enterprise story or series; Marion Webb, business story or series; and sports story or series; Mandy Jackson, real estate story or series; Brad Graves, science/technology/health story or series; and Pat Broderick, political government story or series.
