Sanders Names Four to Housing Commission

Mayor Jerry Sanders on Nov. 2 announced the appointment of Khadija Basir, and reappointments of Jennifer Adams-Brooks, Tony Yip and Alice Tumminia to the San Diego Housing Commission, subject to City Council approval expected later this month.

Basir, a senior human resources assistant at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, served as an analyst for the Regional Task Force on the Homeless. He will replace Leeandrus Knight, whose term has expired.

Adams-Brooks, president of Clark Consultants in San Diego, serves on the San Diego Foundation Board of Governors, and chairs the UC San Diego Board of Overseers, among other civic positions.

Yip, a founding partner of Brodshatzer, Wallace, Spoon & Yip, is a certified public accountant. His affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Business Economists and the Asian Business Association.

Tumminia, a longtime resident of a Housing Authority unit, will serve as a resident commissioner.
