Executive Spotlight: Brett Hanley
Solatube Global Marketing Inc. has named Brett Hanley president. He will be responsible for overseeing all development and management of the company’s extensive distribution channels, which spans more than 30 countries. Most recently, Hanley was serving as the company’s vice president of sales and marketing. He serves on the board of directors for International Marketing Group LLC and HHH Properties LLC.

Doug Clevenger, a certified public accountant at Robert R. Redwitz & Co., has been made principal of the firm.
Martha Estrada has joined First Bank’s Chula Vista office as vice president and branch manager. She will be responsible for developing new and existing business relationships, managing the budget and training office staff.
Health Care and Biotech
William Nolan has joined La Jolla Spa MD as a plastic surgeon. He had held an array of positions throughout his career, serving as an assistant professor of surgery at Cornell Medical College and program director for New York University’s aesthetic surgery training fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. Nolan has been honored twice on New York Magazine’s Best Doctors List.
Heiner Dreismann, chief executive officer of FasTraQ, has been appointed to Nanogen Inc.’s board of directors. Dreismann has more than 20 years’ experience in the biotech and health care industries.
Technology and Manufacturing
Holly Youmans is the new sales and marketing director for 02 interactive. She will be responsible for focusing on creating awareness and generating sales. Most recently, Youmans served as a senior sales representative for Barratt American.
Todd Tatar has joined PowerGenix Inc. as vice president of product development. He will be responsible for implementing new product design elements and bringing them to market. Most recently, Tatar was with Sanyo Energy for 15 years, holding director, engineering and sales management positions.
Patrick “Pat” Simon has joined SAIC Inc.’s Operational Intelligence Solutions Business unit as program executive for information operations. Simon has more than 26 years of military experience and more than 10 years of senior level information operations experience with the U.S. Army.
Crossflo Systems Inc. has appointed James McGuirk and Joseph Contrucci to its board of directors and Gene Ray to its advisory board. McGuirk served 31 years with Unisys Corp., most recently as general manager; Contrucci has more than 30 years of law practice experience; and Ray is founder of Titan Corp.
Jennifer Wise has joined Cavignac & Associates as an account administrator. Most recently, Wise served as marketing assistant for Prudential Financial.
Fish & Richardson has added two attorneys to its firm, David Kleinsmith and Jennifer Schmied. Kleinsmith joins the firm’s corporate, licensing and patent prosecution practices as of counsel. Kleinsmith has experience in complex technology licensing transactions, intellectual property due diligence, strategic IP counseling and patent preparation and prosecution. Schmied joins the firm’s business litigation practice as an associate. Schmied has experience in business, real estate, labor and employment litigation.
Restaurants and Hotels
Bryan Benavidez has been named general manager of RA Sushi. He will be responsible for managing the staff of 45 and will oversee all aspects of the restaurant.
Mission Valley Resort has named Lorraine Allingham assistant general manager and Michael Springer restaurant manager of Mission Valley Resort. Allingham will be responsible for front desk operations, housekeeping, engineering, reservations and quality control. Springer has been in the restaurant industry for 25 years and most recently served as manager and director of facilities for Pat & Oscar’s.
Nonprofit and Government
San Diego State University Research Foundation has appointed Thomas Scott to interim chief executive officer and Debra Kelley, Gail Naughton, Mark Thiemans and Matthew Keipper to its board of directors.
Chip Palid has joined Brecht Enterprises as general sales manager for Brecht BMW and Brecht Mini automobile retail centers.
Carmen Bianchi, director of the San Diego State University College of Business Administration’s Entrepreneurial Management Center Business Forum and principal of Carmal & Associates, a consulting firm, has been named president-elect of the Family Firm Institute. Bianchi has 15 years of family business consulting experience and has been a member of FFI for 17 years.
Five Point Capital has hired Christine DiDonato as training director. She will be responsible for direct entry-level and advanced training programs designed for the sales and operations department. DiDonato has 10 years of training experience in the financial services industry and most recently served as vice president of corporate development and training for Thornton Financial Services Inc.
Manpower has appointed Joseph Mindell to manager of the direct hire division. He will be responsible for managing the new division, Manpower Search, establishing client strategies and working to fill recruitment needs. Most recently, Mindell spent eight years in Tokyo managing retained and contingency direct hire programs with various information technology companies within the Asia-Pacific region.
Kelly Services has appointed Maria Nugent to district manager of its San Diego region. She will be responsible for overseeing all branch and sales operations for the company’s San Diego locations.
Joseph Greenblatt, president of Sunrise Management, has been appointed to regional vice president of the Institute of Real Estate Management. He will serve a two-year term with oversight of the nine IREM chapters in California and Hawaii.
Prudential California Realty’s La Mesa office has added Michael Cameron to its team of real estate professionals, and Prudential’s Rancho Santa Fe office has added Patti Gerke to its team of real estate professionals.
Alexys Monico has joined Re/Max Associates’ Rancho San Diego office as a real estate sales agent.
