The third annual Buds ‘n’ Blooms Floral Fiesta in Balboa Park will be part of the city’s millennium festivities, “Balboa Park Exposition 2000.”
The monthlong program will take place throughout May. More than 80 park museums, performing-arts venues and other cultural and recreational attractions are planning floral-themed activities, said the event’s press representative.
This year’s title is “The Garden Fair,” which alludes to the 1915-16 Panama-California Exposition. It was nicknamed the Garden Fair because it featured more than 2 million plants of 1,200 varieties, according to the representative.
