The three San Diego companies in the Fortune 500 rank higher on the 2005 list than they do on Fortune’s 2004 list.
The Fortune magazine list, released today, ranks the 500 biggest companies in the United States.
Sempra Energy came in at 235, up from 257. Sempra had profits of $895 million on revenue of $9.6 billion.
Science Applications International Corp. ranked No. 276, up from 289. SAIC had profits of $341 million on revenue of $7.76 billion for the four quarters ended Oct. 31.
Qualcomm Inc. was at No. 398, up from 434. Qualcomm had profits of $1.7 billion on revenue of $4.9 billion.
Fortune used revenue figures from 2004 to create its 2005 list.
