San Diego-based Internet security company Websense Inc. announced third-quarter earnings Oct. 24.
Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $46.1 million, up 20 percent from $38.3 million for the same period of 2005 , a company record.
Quarterly net income was $8.5 million, or 18 cents per diluted share based on generally accepted accounting principles, down from income of $10.1 million, or 21 cents per diluted share, for the same quarter last year.
Non-GAAP quarterly income, which excludes stock-based compensation, was $11.5 million, up 14 percent from the previous year.
Websense is traded on the Nasdaq as WBSN and closed Oct. 24 at $22.98, down 66 cents from the previous day’s close. In after-hours trading Oct. 24, Websense was up $1.70 to $24.68.
