Tour d’Elegance Draws More Than
6,000 Viewers
The San Diego District of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) is celebrating two firsts with the appointment of its new chairperson.
On August 16, Gail Goldberg, planning director for the city of San Diego, was officially welcomed as the first public sector employee and the first woman to chair the San Diego/Tijuana chapter of the ULI. Goldberg is the first woman to be named as chairwoman of the ULI anywhere in the United States.
“Historically, the Urban Land Institute has been a bit of an old boys club,” said outgoing chairman William Tuscher, president of Tuscher Development Enterprises Inc. However, Tuscher noted, most of the San Diego/Tijuana chapter’s members are women.
