Rancho Santa Fe Agent Is Among Top 1 Percent In the Nation for Sales
A trio of real estate industry members active in San Diego County has announced a merger and two strategic alliances.
San Diego-based Apartment Search merged late last month with Austin, Texas-based Spectrum Apartment Locators, said Andrea Henry, a spokeswoman for Apartment Search.
The combined company is now called Spectrum Apartment Search and becomes the largest rental relocation company in the nation with projected revenues of $30 million for 2000, she added. The more than 500 employees of the new company provide free personalized rental finding for the housing needs of each prospective tenant, she said.
Meanwhile, Pardee Homes and Norwest Mortgage Inc., a subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Co., have agreed to a joint venture to originate, process and fund mortgage loans for customers of the homebuilder. The joint venture is called Pardee Mortgage Co. LLP, said Marlene Hanson, a Pardee spokeswoman.
“We’ve had a strong business relationship with Norwest Mortgage for the past 10 years and this partnership further strengthens our ability to offer the best quality products and services to our home buyers,” said James Wisda, vice president-administration of Pardee Homes.
Meanwhile European Natural Stone Co. of San Diego, a fabricator and installer of granite and other stone, has formed a statewide strategic alliance with Home Depot Inc. of Atlanta to retail Silestone, a granite-like stone product for countertops.
Pete Sciarrino, president of European Natural Stone, said Home Depot would be selling Silestone products at its 75 locations in California.

Production Awards: Coldwell Banker has recognized Ann Brizolis of the company’s Rancho Santa Fe office as the agent of the year for the San Diego region.
Dave Colmar, senior vice president and regional manager for Coldwell Banker, said Brizolis’ sales effort places her in the top 1 percent of the more than 70,000 Coldwell Banker agents in the nation.
Meanwhile, Michael and Elaine Gallagher of the Del Mar office of San Diego-based Prudential California Realty were named as the No. 1 agents for listings taken, homes sold and gross commission dollars earned for the brokerage last year.
Steven Games, president of Prudential California Realty, made the announcement at the company-wide awards banquet late last month at the Hyatt Regency Hotel & Marina.
Directors Installed: Caryl Iseman, a broker with Associated Realtors in Downtown, and Charles Jolly, an independent broker, have been installed as directors of the San Diego Association of Realtors.
This is the second consecutive two-year term for Iseman and the third time Jolly has been appointed to the board of directors, said Heather Bennett, a spokeswoman for the organization of real estate agents.

Contract Awarded: N.N. Jaeschke Inc. of San Diego has been awarded the property management contract for Capri at Lomas Verdes, a community of 117 courtyard town homes at 1839 Via Capri in Chula Vista.
The Jaeschke company will provide overall management and accounting services for the homeowners association, said Nora Jaeschke, president.
Busy Builders: San Diego-based JenJor Development Inc. has completed construction on the 10,000-square-foot Broadway Plaza retail building at 45 N. Broadway in Chula Vista. Ninteman Construction Co. of San Diego finished approximately $1.6 million in tenant improvements at Pacific Tower at 10145 Pacific Heights Blvd. McGraw/Baldwin Architects of San Diego completed architectural design for the city of Coronado’s Public Works Service Center. The tenant improvement division of Bycor General Contractors Inc. of San Diego has started construction of 26,500 square feet of space for the California Department of Justice at 9425 Chesapeake Drive. Improvements to the building include installation of an elevator and a complete seismic retrofit of the existing mezzanine, said Mark Gritzmaker, project manager.
