Grading gets under way for Nokia’s second major building at the Scripps Northridge Corporate Center. In the background is Nokia’s Product Creation Center, completed in November 1999. A special coast-to-coast ribbon cutting ceremony was broadcast by satellite and on the Internet on Jan. 14 to celebrate the opening of three new Nokia facilities , the San Diego site as well as new centers in Texas and Massachusetts. The new $30 million facility will serve as an office and research facility. Kearny-Scripps, LLC, a partnership of Lankford & Associates, is the developer for both local projects. The Finland-based Nokia employs more than 7,000 workers in the U.S., and has worldwide sales of $15.7 billion.
