Individuals and businesses have contributed $175,000 to the San Diego Food Bank in the past month, the organization reported Dec. 3.
Business leaders who donate $25,000 or more become members of the Chairman’s Quarterback Club. Mitch Mitchell, the Food Bank’s new board chairman, began the club in mid-October.
Quarterback Club members and businesses include Dan Shea, Donovan’s Steak and Chop House; Ron Fowler, Mesa Distributing; Malin Burnham, Burnham Foundation; Steve Hoffman, NRG Energy; Jack McGrory, Price Enterprises; Mitch Lynn, CRI 2000 LP; Steve and Larry Cushman, United Way; and Zenith Insurance Co.
Food Bank officials coined the name Quarterback Club to highlight the organization’s renewed partnership with the San Diego Chargers.
The Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that acts as a central repository and distribution point for government and donated food. It distributes food to both individuals and charities.
