Prevost Construction has completed a multimillion-dollar construction project on University Science Center, a facility owned by BioMed Realty Trust located at 3545 John Hopkins Court in Torrey Pines.
This is the fifth project the Prevost team has completed for BioMed in the past year. Originally a single-tenant laboratory building occupied by The Scripps Research Institute, Prevost Construction converted the approximately 72,000-square-foot project to accommodate up to eight tenants.
Prevost collaborated with BioMed and Ferguson Pape Baldwin Architects on the project.

Barnhart has completed a $10 million, 18-classroom addition to Cajon Park School in Santee that houses 450 students.
The 33,000-square-foot, two-story building opened last month adjacent to the existing 42,000-square-foot Cajon Park School campus currently undergoing $6.7 million in modernization improvements to classrooms, offices, library/technology center, kitchen and bathrooms. The new Cajon Park junior high addition is the first new classroom building for the Santee School District since 1960. The project is part of a $165 million school modernization program approved by voters in November 2006.
Barnhart is overseeing construction and construction management for the modernization of nine elementary schools in the Santee School District.

San Diego-based KMA Architecture & Engineering said construction of a new dormitory at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Ariz., is nearly complete.
KMA was retained to design the project, slated for completion in the first quarter of 2009. Project designs for the new $17 million project include a three-story dormitory, a large communal area and a mechanical equipment building.
The dormitory building will house approximately 108 personnel and will be designed in a “U” shape with a landscaped courtyard in the center. Each dormitory room will be designed according to the Air Force standard building module with four bedrooms and common living room and kitchen areas. The building will also feature individual bulk storage areas available to all residents.
