PowerGenix, which makes rechargeable nickel-zinc batteries, has hired former ID Analytics executive John Creelman as chief financial officer.
He joins the San Diego company following the closing of a $30 million venture funding round, as well as the company’s recent agreement to supply Ritz Camera with its rechargeable AA batteries.
As CFO, Creelman will help PowerGenix tap into the $10 billion global rechargeable battery market, the company said.
Creelman previously served as CFO for ID Analytics, a San Diego company specializing in information technology security products, and was also the CFO for Copper Mountain Networks in Palo Alto, where he managed the company’s annual revenue growth from $211,000 in 1997 to more than $280 million in 2000. He led Copper Mountain’s initial public offering.
He holds a master of business administration and bachelor’s degrees from the University of California at Irvine.
