New Owner for San Diego Magazine

San Diego Magazine Publishing Co., which produces the monthly


San Diego Magazine,

was bought by CurtCo Publishing.

CurtCo Publishing, which produces more than 20 magazines for affluent markets across the nation, finalized the acquisition June 25 in conjunction with financial sponsors Weston Presidio and TD Capital Communications Partners.

Details of the purchase price were not released.

Malibu-based CurtCo, which also publishes the

Robb Report, Worth

and

ShowBoats International,

will also acquire San Diego Magazine Publishing Co.’s custom publishing division, which produces the bimonthlies

San Diego Lawyer

and

Garden Compass,

as well as publications developed in partnership with organizations such as the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau, San Diego North Convention & Visitors Bureau and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.

San Diego Magazine, which has a circulation of 53,000 readers, will continue to operate under its current management, said Jeff Perlman, a representative with CurtCo Publishing.

The magazine, which will remain at its Downtown location, will continue to employ its 30 employees under their current titles, Perlman said, adding that no shift in management is expected.

The acquisition is the latest move by CurtCo Publishing to extend its reach into affluent regional markets.

The company, which would not disclose the cost of its latest acquisition, recently acquired the assets of Gulfshore Media, publisher of the Florida regional luxury lifestyle magazines

Gulfshore Life

and

Sarasota.
