Former Bank of Commerce president Peter Q. Davis, whose own bid for mayor of San Diego ended earlier this month, has endorsed Superior Court Judge Dick Murphy for the post.
Murphy, who finished second just ahead of Davis in the March 7 primary election, now faces frontrunner Ron Roberts, a San Diego County supervisor, in the November general election.
Davis, who announced his support March 23, said he and Murphy have been acquainted for more than 30 years. They met while working at the regional headquarters of Bank of America in San Diego, he added.
