Mayor Dick Murphy has appointed Robert Griswold and reappointed Barry Schultz to the San Diego Planning Commission.
The commission recommends changes to the city’s general and community plans, and makes recommendations on the capital improvement budget, rezonings and related land-use matters; and has final approval on subdivisions, as well as many permits.
Griswold, of Sabre Springs, is president of Griswold Real Estate Management, Inc. He hosts “Real Estate Today!” a weekly radio talk show on News Radio 600 KOGO, and serves as the real estate expert for “NBC This Weekend in San Diego.”
He served as a subcommittee chair for the Task Force on Affordable Housing, and served on the San Diego Housing Commission Loan Committee. Griswold earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Southern California.
Schultz, also of Sabre Springs, will chair the commission. He is the chief executive officer for San Diego Capital Collaborative, a community investment corporation, and is a former shareholder of the law firm Sullivan Wertz McDade & Wallace.
He has worked with several community groups, including the City Heights Community Development Corporation and the Bayview Community Development Corporation.
A graduate of San Diego State University, Schultz earned his law degree from Western State Law School.
