Tom Morey, a 30-year veteran in the surf industry, is relocating his surfboard manufacturing company to North County.
Starwaves, which was previously located in Orange County, will be housed in a 3,000-square-foot facility in Oceanside, where Morey will be producing his new surfboard, the YPH7 Swizzle.
Morey, who is well known as the inventor of the Boogie Board, is returning to San Diego County after 30 years.
In the 1970s, Morey sold his boogie boards out of a facility in Carlsbad, where he manufactured 1,000 boogie boards per day.
