More Tech Work in the Pipeline for SAIC

SAIC, a San Diego-based research and engineering firm, said May 21 that it won a contract valued at $35 million to provide information technology outsourcing services to Alyeska Pipeline Service Co., a client of SAIC’s since 2002.

Alyeska operates the 800-mile-long Trans Alaska Pipeline System.

The five-year, fixed unit price contract contains two one-year options that could be worth an additional $14 million, giving the contract a total potential value of $49 million, the company said.

The IT services include local and wide area network support, security, application maintenance and enhancement, and cross functional services.

SAIC, also known as Science Applications International Corp., also will support 1,800 desktops and 100 servers and multiple storage area networks, the company said.

SAIC, with more than 44,000 employees, including 4,600 at its San Diego headquarters, reported annual revenue for its last fiscal year ended Jan. 31 of $8.3 million.
