Mission Valley Sheraton Sold

The 260-room Sheraton San Diego Mission Valley sold this month as part of a seven-hotel package for $267.2 million , $133,333 per room , to Ashford Hospitality Trust, a publicly traded Dallas-based real estate investment trust.

The other hotels are: the 263-room Embassy Suites Philadelphia Airport in Philadelphia; the 249-room Embassy Suites Walnut Creek in Walnut Creek; the 300-room Hilton Minneapolis Airport in Bloomington, Minn.; the 375-room Sheraton Anchorage in Anchorage, Alaska; the 323-room Marriott Trumbull in Trumbull, Conn.; and the 234-room Sheraton Iowa City in Iowa City, Iowa.

The company, traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AHT, announced that it would invest about $40 million in improvements during the next year.
